We’ve reached the end of Fall semester! Huge thanks to everyone who came in for Soup Roast, which for us turned into a miraculous Snow Roast (see evidence above). The preceding week involved a multitude of drawings revolving around our current version of our working unit plan, “Dirty Beat”. After taking sections, rendering the interior, and aggregating the units on the site, we decided to step into the third dimension. We created a ½ inch scale model of Dirty Beat which can be used to test light qualities and furniture placement. In the pin-up space of Red Barn, we taped down the unit plan at full scale, so we can begin to actually walk through and understand the size of our design. Soup Roast began Saturday afternoon, as everyone was finally able to tunnel through the winter weather. Our review led to a productive discussion - allowing us to begin questioning materiality, construction, detail, and systems. Time for a break(ish). You’ll hear from us next year! -- source link
