Seen here is a 1917 drawing of the Marcus Hook Range Rear Light in Pennsylvania. Located near Bellefonte in New Castle County, Delaware, the Range Rear Light was built in 1918 and has been aiding navigation on the Delaware River for over 100 years. The light works in tandem with a corresponding Front Range Light, which was built in 1925 and is located 1.5 miles northeast of the Range Rear Light. The image indicates the Range Rear Light having a fourth order Fresnel lens that has since been replaced with an RL24 beacon. Both Lights remain active in aiding navigation on the Delaware River.Want to learn more about our holdings?
