Say howdy to @ollie_otto, the latest member of #companiesthatactuallygiveashit! Ollie & Otto is a Texas-based and Black woman-owned brand that makes personal care + home essential products They use #plantbased and #organic ingredients such as safflower and coconut oils; and skip known endocrine disrupters like parabens and sulfates. If you’re in need of some new Castile soap or other home products, go check out @ollie_otto link in my stories! • #companiesthatactuallygiveashit was started in 2018 when a prominent zero waste brand ignored the community’s concerns about the need for inclusivity and accessibility in the zero waste movement. Inspired by @zerowastehabesha’s #RepresentationMattersinSustainability series, the goal of #companiesthatactuallygiveashit is to instead highlight the many #BIPOC-owned brands in this space that do support conversations surrounding intersectional environmentalism, privilege, and accessibility. My hope is that you can refer back to this hashtag whenever you’re looking for a #sustainable product or organization - and amplify the companies that are doing things right If you know of any brands you’d like to see highlighted, please tag them in the comments below and I’ll add them to the list [image description: a pump bottle of Ollie & Otto Castile soap lays on cream colored fabric.] (at Brooklyn, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/CZ6_GL9u6Wm/?utm_medium=tumblr -- source link
