It’s about time for a new addition to #companiesthatactuallygiveashit, so please give a warm welcome to @gooddayflor, a Black woman owned cannabis brand available in NYC. Started by @thevicstyles, (one of my all time favorite content creators ), their cannabis is consciously cultivated and grown in Northern California and currently only available for women. I believe it is especially important to support Black-, Indigenous-, and Latine-owned cannabis businesses - yes, that means CBD brands as well - given the disproportionate impact these communities have faced from the war on drugs. So if you’re in NYC and looking for a new place to get your flower, check out @gooddayflor (there might be a waitlist currently, but follow them for updates on all new biz things!) • #companiesthatactuallygiveashit started when zero waste retailer Package Free blatantly ignored the community’s concerns around inclusivity, and people were looking to find #sustainable and #BIPOC-led brands. Inspired by @zerowastehabesha’s #RepresentationMattersinSustainability series, the goal is to highlight brands that we should all be supporting, and show that this movement isn’t exclusively for white, upper/middle class women. I have a lot of privilege and want to lend my platform to uplifting brands and voices that have been and continue to make a difference in the world. If you know of any brands you’d like to see highlighted, please tag them in the comments below and I’ll add them to the list [image description: two jars of cannabis, one open at the top and one laying on its side featuring a dark green Good Day Flor label.] (at Brooklyn, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/CYwaVoouLBp/?utm_medium=tumblr -- source link
