I own 33 pairs of shoes, and I’m doing my best to minimize my “collection” and I’m also swearing off buying a new pair of shoes in 2020.Today’s shoes are three that went right into the trash bin, because they’re all worn through the sole. Both of the red shoes are what I can only describe as completely disappointing. The gold chucks were fire. The red Nike Air Maxes were a hot shoe when I first bought them. I loved how flashy they looked, especially with my work outfit being navy and white. They popped, and I received so many complements. So why were they disappointing? I wore all the way through the soles by the big toe in just under 2 months. These are $110 kicks and I wore through them before it was even summer time. I held on to them because I honestly wanted to like them more, but in the garbage they go.The red sneakers with the white soles cost like $8 at Primark. How can you be disappointed with $8 Primark shoes? “You get what you pay for!” and that’s the most accurate way to describe them. I wore them for the 4th of July week in 2018 and again in 2019. Having worn them a total of 8 days, I wore all the way through the soles on these. $1/day shoes is not a very good ratio, tbh. (The Nike’s were like $2/day).Gold Chucks, wore the hell out of these, as these were the replacements for the Nike’s, and I bought them at the Converse Outlets for $11. I wore these through the rest of my work year, May-December and honestly, I could probably squeak another few weeks out of them, but they’re really gross, so to the trash they go. I’m not sure exactly the number of days I wore these, but it’s somewhere close to 150 days, so $.07 a day. Makes up for the other two and then some.Shoes 4, 5, and 6 of 33. -- source link
