I can’t help but draw comparisons between this and RW&RB, which this book is obviously based off of. When Alex told his mom about the leak, she was disappointed and worried about her campaign, but also showed concern for her son who was suddenly outed and whose privacy was violated in the most miserable way. And in this book, MC’s mom doesn’t seem to give a shit about what her kid might be feeling? Can we get a “how are you” before she immediately threatens to invade MC’s privacy (again)? She doesn’t have to be super supportive, but it’s clear at this point that all she cares about is her presidency, which makes her… kind of one note. -- source link
