So likeI love the idea of the alternate universes where instead of Pink Diamond going rouge its one of the other diamonds. I’ve seen a couple of different AUs and designs going around and I wanted to throw in a concept of my own for funziesIn each universe, the diamond who got Earth was the one to change and make an alternate identity. For White Diamond, she became Rainbow Quartz. For Yellow, she became Topaz, and for Blue, she became Lapis Lazuli. I wanted to try doing different gems because I thought it would be cool, and also we really only see topaz with yellow’s symbol, and lazulis with blue’s symbol, so? Why not it be the gems they grow out of the ground, I guess. I also really wanted to give each kid their own personality and style, because I don’t think the other diamonds all have the same taste in Earth men, ya know? Jason is the son of Rainbow, very outdoorsy, loves to talk/socialize, is a big baseball fan, and is crazy good at puzzle games like chess and suduko. His version of the Crystal Gems live in a temple built into a waterfall in the middle of a State Park. His dad is a park ranger who’s main hobby is bird watching. Alex is the child of Topaz, very laid back, enjoys skateboarding, video games, and horror movies. They’re naturally sarcastic and aloof, but they are super protective of friends and family. Alex’s version of the Crystal Gems live in an underground temple on the outskirts of a major city. Their dad was a construction worker who, unfortunately, died in a work-related accident when he was a kid. Grace is the daughter of Lapis Lazuli, a total sweetheart who enjoys yoga, arts and crafts, and is a total science nerd. Her version of the Crystal Gems live in a temple built inside a plateau in a dry desert climate near a reservation. Her father is a native craftsman who strives to keep their culture alive and thriving. I’d like to do more art of them later as I get more ideas, but this is all I have for now.
