I was talking to the wonderful @livingmeatloaf yesterday about a modern au in which the Lan bros have an antique shop and stumble across the very cursed sword (the one Wei Wuxian finds in the turtle in the actual story, the one that never comes up ever again and it haunts me). Throw in modern cultivators Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian who are basically like cryptid celebrities and you got two Lan bros with a massive crush. They might or might not hesitate a lot less to purchase items with a wicked aura from now on. u_uAnyway, I have been talking about practicing backgrounds since forever now but never actually committed to doing that.
