From a feminist point of view, I want to do more than be an object of desire. I want to embody paradoxical characters. What I like is the transposition. In Paris Police 1900, I wear a corset. I always said no to corsets. But there, the corset allows me to channel Marguerite’s anger, to express what women who were entirely at the mercy of men at that time could experience. You see, I like the word ‘sublimate’ very much.
