Wild International played the closing slot of a show at Shea Stadium with Spires, Life Size Maps and Dinowalrus. I ended up there after seeing an awesome performance at the Eugene Lang school in the city with some Napoleon folks and was already in the mood to get down but could never have prepared for WI’s catchy, punchy, layered guitar/percussion-synthony of precisely what I wanted to hear at the time. While I wasn’t quite drunk enough to have acted a complete fool in the front, I definitely got my dance on. They also list “Vermont” as one of their influences on Facebook so that’s an extra endearment. Their “Lake Tones” EP is avails via their bandcamp for $7. Do it. I couldn’t find a video of the setup that I experienced, but this one is still good. -- source link
