SAGA VOLUME 3 by Brian K Vaughan and Fiona Staples Rating 5/5 stars I gave this volume 5 stars simply because it is a part of this series that I love. If I’m being honest though I didn’t like it as much as volumes 1&2, I think it was more of a story building part of the plot and there are bigger, better things to come. We begin this novel following our favourite family Alana, Marko, Hazel and Klara. They’ve landed on Heist’s home planet and have met this author Alana admires so much. For 5 days they spend their time doing laundry, catching their breathe and playing board games while Heist plays host. Alana and Marko realize that they need to find a way to get jobs, even though they are fugitives on the run. Klara and Heist suggest working for some sort of television network, the actors wear masks and its a job where you don’t deal with public. Meanwhile The Will, Gwendolyn and Slave girl have landed on a planet and are awaiting repairs, the food on the planet poisons them and they hallucinate. Slave girl (re-named Sophie) has seen her mother in her hallucination and is told to kill the bad man (The Will). He gets stabbed in the neck and nearly dies, however right before this Gwendolyn and The Will receive information on Marko’s whereabouts. Once Gwendolyn finds Sophie standing on The Wills neck, she decided to go find Marko to save him. Prince Robot IV has been to visit Heist and is positive the fugitive family is with him. Gwendolyn storms in while Heist and Prince Robot IV are talking, the old author shoots the Robot, but Gwendolyn kills him. Gwendolyn confronts Alana, Marko and Hazel, but they escape. Prince Robot IV wanders off while malfunctioning and The Will is brought to a Hospital and Gwendolyn contacts his sister known as The Brand. The Will is in critical condition and we leave his scene finding out that his sisters real name is also Sophie. The family leaves the planet and we cut off the story knowing that for the next couple years no one tries to track down the family. The art is still stunning and story still very much intriguing! -- source link
