gazingdream: The 100 and Day 21 book review/show comparison After the first season of the 100 ended I was in mourning, my obsession with show began with the trailer just randomly popping up on my tv. Everything about this show looked amazing not to mention it was set in a forest and I freaking LOVE TREES. So i immediately went and bought both books, because I needed more, and read them both in a day. Unfortunately I was kind of disappointed, I had really high hopes for these books, considering the show is so incredible. It was an easy read and interesting stor but poorly executed, it lacked the thrill and excitement of the show. The show has definitely taken the idea to its full potential. However the book does provide a better insight to life on the Ark prior to The 100 being sent down to the ground It was very interesting to see how they managed up there for so many years. I’d recommend these books to The 100 fans even though its totally different from show, you can still get an idea of what inspired the characters and how they were developed. And to all you Bellarke shippers, the book has what we all want and need. (spoiler alert) Also I found it very difficult to connect to Glass, and some of the other characters. The radiation experiment was to cruel and really hard to read. I didn’t particularly like the ending the idea of Bellamy and Wells being brothers came out of nowhere and I wasn’t really feeling it, and Octavia’s drug habit was a bit unbelievable. But what made up for it, was bellamy pulling a Katniss everdeen with a bow and arrow. 2.5/5* You said pretty much everything I wanted to share about the book. Now, I’m in the middle of the first one. Despite it covers a lot of unknown stuff and the characters’ thoughts, it’s TOO simple, and REALLY LACKS a twist. There are basically three interesting characters: Bellamy, Clarke and Wells. I understand why the directors and creators of the show added Finn, and Raven, and Clarke’s mother. My points are even lower - 2/5* But, worth reading apart of the show :) -- source link
