In our archive, we have a very small memoranda book owned by George Richmond RA. The alphabetical sections were used to take notes and sketches after the places and pictures he saw as he traveled in Italy. This page, under T for Titian, shows a sketch of “Sacred and Profane Love”. On the facing page, there is a study of the same painting, but this one is noted as being drawn by Mrs. (Hannah) Palmer, the wife of the painter Samuel Palmer. This tiny book can fit in the pam of your hand and it is amazing just how much detail can fit into the even smaller sketches. -- source link
