gffa:This is one of the moments where I really started to get invested in the books and the characters–Rand blaming himself for not telling them about the rider, wondering if he’d fucked it up by not saying something, that he’s ready to put this all on himself, and Moraine, a character that I know will have to be hard and make hard decisions and keep these sweet summer children’s focus in line, firmly says that she will not have himself to blame when he is not.I want to wrap Rand in a nice, warm blankie and feed him soup, but I’m kind of falling for Moraine as well, someone who has to make a lot of really difficult choices and shrug off the really shitty things people say to her, just because she’s an Aes Sedai, despite that she practically ran herself into the ground trying to help them, who had done nothing but save life after life, but still doesn’t let that steal the compassion from her. She’s dealing with world-breaking level events here and yet still knows that sometimes people need to be told that something isn’t their fault and is firm that blaming themselves for it isn’t to be done. She blames herself and Lan a bit, but you can tell it’s not eating her up with poison inside the way it would have with Rand, and this doesn’t conflict with how hard she drives them and the choices she’ll make in the future.Anyway, I love Moraine Sedai already and I am choosing to stan. -- source link
