I am overjoyed to announce my upcoming collaboration with chef & culinary artist @ellejays_ as part of Brown Butter, curated by @jamminjazzdad & to be exhibited at @aeartcentre in Kingston in Spring 2022! @brownbutterexhibit is a multi-sensory, inter- and multi-disciplinary arts installation that pairs Black chefs & Black artists who collaboratively create an edible artifact and installation. An internalization of Black thought, a gavage of Black expression, this exhibit features 6 pairings of Black chefs & artists, including the extraordinary @colouredconversations & @syrusmarcus whose work I have admired for so many years! Over the next few months, Marissa & I will be working on an installation, performance & edible artifact that explores (up)rootedness & our relationship to the earth through the roots we eat & through the soil we come from as Black folks.
