Speaking of queen gowns: One of my under-appreciated but personal favorites is the Evil Queen costume from Snow White/OuaT. ⚜️Taffeta mermaid gown with jagged bust line ⚜️Hand-sewn beaded appliqué (several long relaxing TV show nights) ⚜️Sequin cape (heavy af, what was I thinking?) and chiffon under cape ⚜️Feather collar ⚜️Worbla/leather/lace crown headpiece I really loved making this costume but it is a tad difficult to wear because of the swishy skirt and the weight of the cape AND the genius fact that I wanted the front to be open . I had to make a worbla-enforced harness/bolero thing that is attached to the cape and allows me shrug the whole thing on. If I were to change anything now it would be to make the chiffon under cape in a contrasting color so the dress doesn’t get so lost in it. Maybe red?? And also, make new and prettier lace glove things. But yeah, the Evil Queen costume is what made me want to add appliqués to the Carmilla dress, for that extra delish texture and eye-catching detail.
