Each of the characters in these gritty stories face a realization – a veil has lifted from their eyes – and they find themselves with the obligation to choose to act in response to their newfound knowledge or stay idle. Ultimately these decisions will come to redefine who they are and alter the rest of their lives.Mariana Enríquez’s writing is fretfully grim and unsettling.
