alive-sum: thegaypumpingthroughyourveins: alive-sum: Grin & Percy REBLOGGING THIS HERE CAUSE IT IS SO CUTE I DIED “I’ll be home tonight,” Gellert informs him as he knots the blue silk scarf around his neck. He straightens his collar, peers a look at the kitten tilting his head up curiously at him, unable to comprehend the words but willing to make an effort all the same. Grindelwald smile at him, and Percival tentatively smiles back - exposing two cute, sharp canines. His tail swishes in the air behind him, and the pair of ears on top of his head is perked up in interest. He remains kneeling obediently, but makes a low noise of confusion when Gellert starts walking away. The kitten prowls forward, on all fours on the floor, tail raised up behind him and exposing his naked, cute behind. He is only wearing a white shirt, open on the front, but the apartment is warm enough that he won’t get cold. He has plenty to occupy himself, too: a ball of wool, a cork suspended in the air with a thread Gellert tied to the ceiling of the bedroom, and if he feels tired he can curl up on the mountain of blankets Gellert piled in the middle of the bed. His bowls are full of fresh food and water. All Percival will miss for the day is his company, but Gellert has no choice but to go. Now that the weekend is over, he has to get back to work, and even if he worries about his kitten, he knows he should be fine, at least physically. The kitten bumps his head against Gellert’s knee and mewls, and Gellert crouches down to rub his head, making Percival’s eyes fall close in bliss. He even purrs, a low rumbling sound that eases Gellert’s anxiety and makes him feel warm. Percival truly is his greatest creation so far. He keeps petting the kitten for as long as he can, until Percival is rolling over on his back, utterly trusting. A quick look at the clock regretfully informs him that he has to go, however, and he caresses Percival’s head one last time before getting up. His kitten mewls in distress, but Gellert soothes and shushes him, until Percival is sitting down once more, legs crossed and a sullen look on his face. His brows are creased in worry and confusion, and his ears have flattened, getting lost in the dark sea of his hair. Gellert opens the door and makes to close it, but one last look at his kitten has him biting his lips guiltily and stepping back into the flat to press a quick kiss to Percival’s forehead. The kitten smiles, and Gellert runs back to the door before he has anymore regrets. He closes it harshly behind him, hears a mewl of protest, and apparates straight to MACUSA. His attention is quickly stolen by the diverse matters requiring it, and by the time the day is finally over Gellert is worn thin, eye bags more pronounced than ever and feeling dirty all over. He wants nothing more than to go home, hug and play with his kitten after he’s changed, but there are a couple more papers to sign, an auror to scold, and then he’s finally out the door - leaving the poor woman trembling and crying behind him. He temporarily relegated her to Wand Permits for her mistakes, even though he internally approves of them. He apparates in front of his door and hears a chorus of meows inside - or the closest approximation to them a human throat can make with the little tweaks of magic Grindelwald induced in Graves. He hurriedly unlocks the door, places his briefcase down, divests himself of his coat and scarf and steps into the flat. The noises are coming from the bedroom, where he finds Percival toying with the little cork he hanged from the ceiling. The man is lying down, feet and hands in the air as his hand plays with the toy and sends it back and forth above him, but his heart doesn’t seem to be in it. “Grin, Grin,” Percival says sadly, plaintively, and Gellert’s heart squeezes in his chest. “Grin, Grin -” Then Gellert clears his throat, and Percival sits up so fast it is almost comical. “Grin!” “I’m here, kitten.” Gellert opens his arms wide, crouching down, and in no time at all he knocked down on his arse with a lapful of happy kitten. Percival is grinning, rubbing his head all over Grindelwald to mark him with his scent, and his purrs fill the room. “I’m home.” “Grin!” Percival repeats, pulling back to look at him. Gellert notices his eyes are red-rimmed, as though he had been crying, and he holds Percival tighter. His kitten must have missed him so much. He imagines him, all alone and lost in the big house, frightened and feeling for Grindelwald’s presence only to find it missing. He looks at the bed to find the sheets all rumpled and the nest destroyed, which only confirms his theory - Percival was searching for him. “Oh, kitten,” he murmurs, rubbing Percival’s back. “I’m sorry.” “Hmm,” Percival says happily, kissing Grindelwald’s neck. “Grin…” This fanfiction so warm and cute…Gellert treats Percy tenderly….My dream…I love that!!!!!!!
