Raised by a progressive single mother, I grew up with a wardrobe containing tuxedos and dresses for special occasions. Mother always preferred dresses, so on her birthdays I knew to wear them without being asked, but the happiest I would see her, was when of my own choice, for the first time, wearing a dress on my own birthday.Although having been accused of being a sissy on countless occasions by the other boys at school, and even worse, the occasions that I turned up with makeup still visible from the day before.
