As Leila posed with its date it once again thought that possibly He was the one it would submit to in marriage. Of course every girl during the Reawakening probably had that thought every time it went on a date or whenever a Man simply did no more than fuck it, as happened all during Leila’s shift at work as a waitress. Girls were stripped of all legal rights during the Reawakening with one of the most important one being that of self-determination. Leila, like every girl, had a legal Male guardian which, of course, it most cases was its Father as it was for it. If its Father would die before it married its guardianship would refer to its nearest Male relative, which in Leila’s case would have been its Uncle. Although the traditional wedding ceremony was conducted, the legal details would have already been concluded. When a girl comes of age at 18, its Father posts how much the “bride price” will be for His daughter that must be paid to transfer guardianship from the girl’s Father to its suitor. Not only does a girl not have any say on who it marries, it was quite common for girl not to know who it would submit to in marriage until it was thrown by the hair by its Father on to the altar to the feet of the Man to which it was submitting. Not surprisingly most Fathers would consider His daughter’s desires in making the decision, but if He had an exceptionally desirable daughter, as was the case with Leila, money talked. -- source link
