Pierce, OC belonging to @daveactualstrider. Amigurumi by me, @yarnmonger!Bonus Cyndaquil because I took so long with this commission. Eyebrows are only in some of the pictures because I added them after the first photo shoot.Art in 2nd picture by @daveactualstrider.My commission information.I have many, many things to say about this (including a couple more pictures) under the cut!Whew, so first off? This was awesome to make. Seriously, I love Pierce and his design.Second off? I have to carefully reevaluate taking more full OC commissions, because this knocked a lot out of me…In that it took me over a year to finish and ship out.Between bouts of depression/apathy and being daunted by technical challenges, I took a long time to make him. I mean, this guy should have taken maybe 150 hours of work to complete. In fact, he probably did take that much time, but the mental blocks were awful. So, things I have learned:- Be prepared to take a big commission. Make sure I have the time and the energy to put those 150 hours in in a timely fashion.- Keep having great communication with the buyer. Couldn’t have done this without Jo’s great understanding and encouragement, so thank you again.- Charge a hell of a lot more money. Jo got a special rate cause I love ‘em, but damn these are worth loads more than I was charging. I think higher prices will also keep me motivated to make them, too.But enough negativity! Here’s some positive stuff I learned!- How to make lil tiny converse- How to steal pants off a tickle-me-Elmo found at a thrift store and appropriate them for my needs- How to crochet a tiny penis (YEP. HE’S GOT A LITTLE DONGLE)- How to make short beardsFinally, if anyone would like a size comparison: -- source link
