b2rianls: Kitanaas a kid, i wasn’t allowed to play Mortal Kombat. i was raised on Street Fighter, and when i finally go my first MK game, Deadly Alliance, i had been spoiled by the lightning fast button mashers by Capcom, and Mortal Kombat’s fighting style was just too slow for me. nevertheless, i can’t deny that Mortal Kombat is one of the most important videogames of all time, and a cultural staple for anyone who grew in the 90s. drawing this character was a lot of fun- her costume is immediately recognizable throughout all its incarnations, i just combined pieces from all the versions of it. the eyes had to be beautiful as they were striking, in order to stand out among all the skin that may be distracting you. Sasha Grey’s eyes have that sort of entrancing appeal, so i based these on hers. i hoped the pose would look feminine and princess-like, while showing off her bloody fan, muscles, and skinned knuckles. i sprinkled the piece with blood and cuts because what would Mortal Kombat be without it? it’s all done in pen, pencil, sharpie, and watercolor THIS IS AMAZING -- source link
