Autumn is waiting just beyond this night.The spirits pause, take a breath of that passing day, lingering for just one more flicker of light to charm them, before passing through the mist. She can almost feel the grass against her legs. She can almost feel the brush of feathers as an owl alights beside her. It is strangely quiet, as though all the tiny creatures of the night are holding their breath, so as not to break her sweet enchantment of life. The light blooms on the horizon and then sets.
