thedailyknicker: Dear Kates ‘Ella’ Brief and Bralet. The concept behind Dear Kates underwear is intriguing and probably the definition of ‘functional’ lingerie. Personally, I think in general being a woman is great and I enjoy it to nth degree. But I have no words for how much I hate, hate- no really- fucking hate getting my period (to the point I got Depo Provera for 3 years once even though it made me put on a career-ruining amount of weight, that’s how much I’d rather not deal with it). Dear Kates was created with specially engineered washable and wicking fabric to be slightly absorbent, whether for your period or for sweat/as gym underwear. If it looks cute, than that’s a bonus. The briefs are very comfortable and so far I’ve mostly worn them to sleep in, especially with the bralet. Quite a great idea to match these briefs with bralets actually, as they are literally the only thing I can wear at that time due to having almost tear-inducingly painful and swollen breasts (Wow, I’m really not selling being a chick, huh? But I will slap you if you try to touch them. In fact, don’t even look at them. Don’t even think about them. I hate you. You don’t love meee! *starts crying*). Adorable diamond mesh fabric, love the mint green accentuated with dark green trim (why am I now thinking about Aero bars?) and the art-deco inspired shapes which tie it all together. The bralet sizing was the only problem I had. A small, would’ve been too small, a large would’ve been way too large so the medium was my only option yet didn’t cover enough at the front I feel and was still too big in the back. I made some personal alterations, taking a good 4 inches out of the back, which of course would be awesome to not have to do, but such is the situation with that type of sizing. The small bottoms were perfect though. Would love to own a few more pairs of these in different styles.
