dirtysavages: Hi guys!  So a lot of you may or may not know that I’m a type 1 diabetic. I was diagnosed as a 4 year old, though they had monitored me for it since birth due to the fact that my father had it and it nearly killed him. I’ve struggled with the disease my whole life, like many type 1s do. It’s hard to get to that perfect zone when it comes to blood sugars. Not only am I diabetic, but I suffer from depression and anxiety, problems that make my main problem even worse. I decided in late June to give a service dog some serious research and thought. I had thought about it before, but never seriously. But after the research I found that not only can a diabetic alert dog help make type 1 diabetes a little easier to control along with other methods, but they can also help ease the anxiety that actually forced me to quit my last job. So why am I posting about this on tumblr? The answer is simple: I need help. I’m trying to do everything in my power to raise the money I need to purchase a service dog. I already have contact with a trainer who has a female dog that’s almost ready to go to a new home, and she’s working on writing up a contract. Once that’s signed, I’ll owe her a deposit fee. Overall, this dog will cost around 12.5k, but I’m asking for 17k to help make sure she’s in good health once she gets to me, so I can stock up on her supplies, buy her some nice things, and to ensure that her training is 100% up to par.
