An archive comic appears! So…apparently I guess backgrounds weren’t a thing when I drew this? Or perhaps I decided that since this was such an emotional moment that nothing existed but the characters themselves? Okay, yeah, let’s go with that one.Art is very bad, especially Panel 3 Hope. Face? Ugh. Hands? What. Breasts are so high that she should be reaching for something over her head (true fact-breasts move with the body).Hope’s personal history is just a mess, by the way. She lost her father at a very young age (he walked out on her mom, then died a decade while after that, but never saw his kid in the meantime), and her mother went through a lot of boyfriends and three husbands. She has multiple step-siblings through her mother’s marriages, but for some reason they all found Hope a little hard to get along with…hmmm.(I imagine Hope’s mother went through every single child care or extracurricular organization in town before she dropped five-year-old Hope off at a judo class and–saints be praised!–the high-energy kid settled down for an hour. More judo? Yes, honey, all the judo you could possibly want, forever.)Anyhow, Hope has always had abandonment and attachment issues. Ben’s behavior, and her interpretation of this, definitely didn’t help her get over these. The black-and-white original is very similar to this one. -- source link
