He smiles as if he truly does know a “secret” – (like he sings about in the song!). He has an impish air and a detached quality that somehow (though he’s very close to them) seems to separate him from the rest of the Beatles. On stage, George has a bearing and manner that is slightly different from that of Paul and John – with whom he sings. Actually, they do most of the singing, and George just stands in the middle, playing away. Sometimes he grins with the other two boys, and sometimes he stares out above the crowd with a distant, wistful look in his eyes.If you study the “action” stills and candids of the group (in 16 Magazine and in other books), you will notice that George seldom clowns around. When he does, he’s the greatest, but most of the time he looks as though he doesn’t even know he is having his picture taken. Editors (such as myself) have to pour over many photographs to come up with portraits of George. He just seems camera-shy!George Harrison dates. He dates different girls – and they are ever hardly the publicity-grabbers who jump to have their picture snapped by his side! He also has a STEADY GIRL – and has had one for quite a while. For instance, who gave him that expensive XKE sports car for his birthday? Insiders say that George’s latest fling, model-starlet Pattie Boyd, is just that. A fling.Well, whatever George Harrison is – he’s definitely proved himself to be a loner, from the word go! He took off for the London party a record manufacturer gave for one of his singers solo, while the rest of the Beatles (who also were invited) rested their tired bodies the night they closed in Paris. That is just one example of his tendency to cut away from the rest of the boys in his spare time.George’s individuality has attracted queries as to whether or not he intends (or is temperamentally suited) to stay a Beatle with the Beatles. There have been many “loners” in hit singing groups, and record shows that eventually they break away and take off on their own.George has written many songs and has a deep desire to be a successful songwriter. In fact, he would love to write a musical for the stage. He is quietly ambitious and, even though Paul McCartney and John Lennon share both the songwriting and singing honors of the Beatles as a group, George is [resolved] to one day be known for his songs and his singing. For the time being, none of the Beatles is old enough to jump off on his own. Not that any of them couldn’t do it – and do it successfully. It’s that it would be insane to dump the wonderful [?] they are gaining right now – after so many years hard work. No, George Harrison won’t be leaving the Beatles. -- source link
