A portrait depicting empress Sallustia Orbiana. She was married to Alexander Severus in 225 when she was about sixteen years old. Their marriage lasted just a couple of years though since in 227 she was deprived of her titles and exiled to Libya. Reason / pretext for this maneuver was an alleged coup attempt by his father, caesar Lucius Seius Herennius Sallustius. Some sources don’t buy this story though and claim that Sallustia Orbina and her father were victims of schemings of Augusta Julia Mamea. Be that as it may the young empress vanishes from history books and nothing is known of her life in Libya. Source: Jastrow, Louvre Museum [Public domain] -- source link
