We need to see the real humans standing before us. Not the always ready, representations of one’s best version of themselves on social media. So much time is put into creating these false representations that the image is no longer true, it becomes a hollow facade. We keep perpetuating this culture of perfection and pretending everything is fine and that we have our lives together, neatly wrapped, often than not, with a bow on top. In reality, we all have bad days. The people before us who we can see with our own eyes, touch with our own hands, and hear with our ears. They are what’s real. ‘WE’ are actual human beings. We cannot form sustainable bonds with others human when we hide the things that actually make us human. ‘Perfection’ keeps us separated and makes it hard for us to accept not only ourselves, but everyone else. If we, ourselves, can’t accept who we truly are, how can we accept who anyone else is? -- source link
