dishsoapz:this is a self portrait i did for my drawing class at school that i’m pretty proud of. It’s about a moment of clarity I had on a roof in new hampshire on the first warm night of the year after a winter of being intensely depressed and suicidal. That moment kind of marks the start of my healing process and was integral to me getting to where I am now so I wanted to create a visual representation of what it felt like. I chose to do the antlers because of associations I have with deer and wisdom/power. The antlers are also heavily inspired by the work of Marc Swanson. They’re made of craft paper, masking tape, modeling clay, elmers glue, and glitter, and fastened to the canvas with cardboard and epoxy. The painting is acrylic with rhinestones. -- source link
