totallysilvergirl: copperplatebeech:The Adventure of the Apocalypse, a Sherlock/Good Omens CrossoverRated T, 6 Chapters, ~ 12K words, completed, posting a chapter every 2-3 daysJohn’s anger at Sherlock over Mary’s death meant a long break in their friendship, and it’s only precariously patched up. But now he’s back in the sitting room of Baker Street, listening to a plump little bookseller and his dire-looking companion explain why they need Sherlock to help them find a certain boy before the impending End Of The World.Rains of fish, violin playing, fast driving in a Ford Fiesta, and Sherlock and John working out what they mean to each other in the shadow of Armageddon. ———————————–A quandary of prodigious moment, involving the fate of the Earth and the Divine Plan, Sherlock had quoted to me before the pair arrived. He usually didn’t have time for nutters, so there had to be something special about these two.“We understand,” said the more affable of the two men, “that you have unusual skills at discovering crimes, and tracking down missing persons, and – that sort of thing.”Read on AO3 Do you love Johnlock? Do you love the Ineffable Husbands? If you do, read on.I don’t do favorites. I definitely don’t do “bests.” When I squee over a fic I try to remember that rankings reflect our needs and mood at the moment—and all that will change. Well, this fic breaks all my rules. “The Adventure of the Apocalypse” flung itself into the top couple of my all-time favorite fics in TWO fandoms: BBC Sherlock and Good Omens. It’s jaquard—that magical fabric woven from two colors that blends both of them into a lush new hue that shifts with movement and light. CopperBeech is a spectacular GO writer who has woven BBC-SH into a POV-John telling of that time the world didn’t end. I’ve never read anything like it and I’m so grateful it exists because I needed it. If, when, you read it you’re going to want to buy me a drink, though it’s CopperBeech who deserves it. (Lest anyone think “Silver may not do favorites but she’s playing favorites”: I abducted Copper as a fandom friend because they’re a superlative writer, not the reverse.)@podfixx @mydogwatson @hubblegleeflower @blogstandbygo @timberva @whatnext2020 @missdeliadili @calaisreno @anonymousdandelion @fluffbyday-smutbynight @starrla89 @msdisdain @sgam76 @keirgreeneyes @inevitably-johnlocked @swissmissficrecs @my-johnlockficrecs @iamjustreading -- source link
