Let’s talk scars. This line of scar tissue was nearly invisible on the surface. It takes practice and training to see what lies beneath the pretty surface. A lot of my work is grading leather and cutting around problem areas to build the most beautiful and resilient gear possible. Scar tissue is tighter, denser and less flexible than the rest of the hide. As the whole piece flexes, this line will stretch less and be more likely to split. It may take years. Maybe it will never happen.
