Banggai Cardinalfish (Pterapogon kauderni) are native to calm, shallow reefs surrounding the Banggai Archipelago, Indonesia. However, they have been introduced to many other places as a consequence of trade in tropical fish. In this species, males will collect fertilised eggs in their mouths, and brood them until juveniles are ready to hatch.Photos: Randall Balch, National Aquarium -- source link
