In the cold dark midwinter the royal families of Caer Dathyl and Caer Fflam often travel to spend yuletide together. Uncle Fflewddur’s nightly bardic recitations are a highlight; though his own brood is familiar with his repertoire of the glorious accomplishments of their predecessors, the presence of their “cousins” makes all the old tales seem new again.
