My friend William was sent to the Headmistress’ office during the Math’s lesson because he was chatting with me while the teacher was writing on the blackboard. When she heard our whispers and turned round, he was the one she saw chatting so he was the unfortunate one who was sent for the caning.I perfectly know how you feel after a caning, so I felt sorry about him and decided to wait for him outside the Administration building. I was sure that with a sore bottom, he would appreciate a shoulder to lean on during our way back home.It turned out that Mrs. Taylor, the teacher who had sent my friend to be punished, came out when I wa waiting for William. - What are  you doing here, Johnson? It’s very cold, you are going to catch a cold standing here.- I am waiting for William, ma’am. I mean for Anderson, the boy you sent to be punished a while ago for chatting with me, you know. I am afraid he will need a bit of help after being caned by the Headmistress. You know how hard she canes.Well, mmm…, maybe you don’t know, but she does.- I understand, Johnson but it that case, you should wait for him inside.- Mrs. Taylor, pupils are not allowed to stay inside the Administration building unless being ordered to.- Yes I know, so that’s why I am ordering you to go to the Headmistress office. I don’t want you to get cold and after all, you have just confessed that it was you the one who Anderson was talking with during my lesson, so a warm bottom won’t do you any harm.
