The last update was too long ago but I’m working on books in the moment which I can’t show yet. I will try to make some new personal stuff and post some older illustrations from last year in the next time. In the moment I’m experimenting to go back to paper and paint, which means I try to emulate all the stuff I do digital with traditional media. It’s much more time consuming and I’m still far from going completely non-digital for my work stuff but it’s fun to see what’s possible and try out new things. Here’s a scene from The Little Prince I made last year. I started with a very small thumbnail sketch (last picture), scanned it, worked on it in Photoshop, printed it out and traced it on watercolor paper. After that I colored the lighter parts with water color, then I painted the background with black gouache. Finally I cut out some things and pasted them on the picture. I’ll make some more tests in this direction and hope to become a bit quicker in the future. -- source link
