Tommy Yeo-Thomas, the ‘White Rabbit’, first parachuted into France in 1943 at the age of forty-one. During the next year he twice more went back into the field but was eventually betrayed and ended up at Buchenwald. He survived the war by changing identity, having hatched a daring and collaborative plan with one of the camp doctors. Yeo-Thomas was later awarded the George Cross to add to his Military Cross and Bar.
