Your Fave Is Catholic: Alanis MorissetteKnown for: Grammy Award winning Canadian singer, songwriter, musician, producer, & actress, she is one of the most beloved & popular singers from the 1990s, & continues to find great success to this day. Originally, she started her career as a child actress, appearing on the popular Canadian television show You Can’t Do That On Television. But once the 90s came about, she started her career in music, & her first two albums were part of the dance pop genre. But her third album, Jagged Little Pill, branched more into a grunge rock style, & became an immense hit. Since then, she became the big superstar that she remains to this day. But after I double checked this, I saw that there was no source included, & I had this statement altered. Luckily though, there was still evidence that supports Alanis being Catholic. According to a WBUR News article & interview about Alanis’s career, Alanis herself explains that growing up in Ottawa, she lived in a very Catholic household & that it was through Catholicism she discovered her gift for singing. As she explains, when she attended church at age 10 & sang a song about Saint Francis of Assisi, a woman sitting in front of her complimented her singing voice, & that gave her the confidence to continue singing.
