turnbullephemera: The Satellites, with their vocalist Paul “Ivor” Fisher formed in a Waikato town in 1957, and were a popular Hamilton rock ‘n’ roll band in the 1960s. They recorded and released at least ten singles. The band was still performing in 2007 with a slightly changed line-up. Ivor Fisher left the Satellites in the mid-1960s, worked with other bands in Auckland and Australia, and even spent some time in America with Ray Woolf, and later sang on cruise ships. Nevertheless he was back singing with the Satellites in the 2007 reunion. Satellites (Musical group ; N.Z.) :Breaking up is hard to do; and, Ali-Baba. [By] The Satellites featuring Ivor Fisher.
