baensurgery: Something new: a comic adaptation of some cut dialogue from the Gilbert & Sullivan opera Ruddigore! I’ve been fascinated with this “lost” material for a while. No recordings or sheet music (that I can find) seem to exist on the internet, so I had to take matters into my own hands. The characters are Sir Despard Murgatroyd (a bad baronet of Ruddigore) and Mad Margaret (his feral once-gf/later-wife). Even if you’re not a G&S fan, I hope you find it enjoyable! (P.S. Another piece will be coming soon. It’ll adapt the duet that was meant to come right after this part!) Keep reading I have never seen this version of the scene, with Margaret interrupting Despard’s monologue- but this is really cool! (Also— Margaret Mackintosh?
