Finished! The first in my planned series of Cú Chulainn/Mountain Goats pieces, and the first remake of two older pieces from when I was still in school. The death of Cú Chulainn is predicted to come at a young age as he took up his first arms after hearing that any who do so that day will be a great hero, but suffer a young death. On his way to battle that would be the end of him, Cú Chulainn is forced through deception to break his three geasa (a sort of self inflicted taboo), which weakened him spiritually and allowed for the fight ahead to lead to his death.Upon receiving the blow that would kill him, Cú Chulainn tied himself to a large dolmen, now called the Clochafarmore, that he would die standing, rather than on the ground like an animal. The song lyrics used come from “Deuteronomy 2:10” by the Mountain Goats from The Life of the World to Come. The death of Cú Chulainn is a sort of spoiler-y place to start, so sorry to you unfamiliar with the story, but honestly, it’s a pre-Christian series of stories so that’s kinda on you. -- source link
