I like to define myself “someone who loves being in and out of rope”, this is why:everytime i am around rope-people i learn that there are so many things for me to learn, still.Rope is not only a tool, is an incredibly simple yet giant megaphone, a flamboyant sign that reads “give me all your attention”, is an highway where the vibrations of my thoughts can happily run towards someone.Yeah, is ok that you have been doing ropes for 8 months, you learned to lock the suspension lines and you are already taking the feet of your bunnies off the ground. Yet, can you do a simple single column tie so that it sends a message? Can you avoid making the TK feel like “prep” to the actual tie? [really, this is hard]Can you look at the emotions in a shibari photo and feel yourself wanting to replicate those*, instead of the actual tie? This leads me to what i consider crucial:being IN and OUT of ropes. Being both the rigger and the rigged. This is the one effective way of understanding the power of every single movement, ever subtle position change, every potential that every tie can have.I can understand how to work with rythm and flow. I know how everything feels and i can deeply understand the magic of that little micro-transition [which is what i should be studying right now instead of taking selfies] and the power of that small unbalance. So well, i tie others and i tie myself, i also get tied up by others.I stick to a very simple rule: i avoid using what i don’t know. Instead i treasure the ingredients that i think i can use properly, i work on those, in and out, i try to make them truly mine. I abandon myself at the sensations i get from giving and receiving them on my skin so that when my little green jute megaphone is on i know exactly how it will sound like.Keep on learning,S.*always considering the uniqueness of every single moment, day and tie in life. -- source link
