Head to this page and fill in the form!See what this is about here, or if you’re using the app here.What’s your fannish ID?jxthics is my general user across most bases – but most people call me johnny!What types of fanworks do you create?art, specifically illustration, though i’m trying to get my footing in drawing comics. my original field was actually animation for a pretty long time, but i wound up switching over to illustration a couple years ago, as well as comics - which ended up with both of those taking up a ton of my free time. my favorite aspect of art is linework, or if it’s painting, then rendering skin. i also really love being able to take existing characters that have set expectations of how you’d look at them, and really making them my own - making them “lived-in,” in a sense. special little quirks or scars or freckles or hairstyles or bodytypes that i adapt them into to make them all my own!What are your favourite types of fanworks, when you’re not creating?i definitely couldn’t do it myself, but i love reading other peoples’ fics! i also adore video edits and fanmixes. music is really important to me and i like seeing how it’s paired with characters i already adore.What do you like in particular about this fandom? honestly, i’m kind of a shy person, and i don’t interact with fandom outside of small circles of friends, so i don’t know much about the fandom as a whole. i haven’t had much of an opportunity to do things myself in my free time up until recently for a myriad of life and health reasons. but one big thing i’ve noticed in my small doses of experiencing the fandom is that people are really wonderful about making their works accessible - i’m disabled (part of the reason why i was drawn to daredevil to begin with) and this is one of the few corners of the internet where people treats accessibility in fandom as the norm.. made me a little less embarrassed about needing things like captions & makes my heart warm <3Do you like participating in fan events?i LIKE it when i CAN, but i’ve been busy with life and stuff for a pretty long time, so i don’t often! i like when people get together and do things like this, and on the rare occasion that i get involved with one, being able to see other people bringing their own adaptations and takes (see, that “lived-in” thing i was talking about earlier) to the table makes me ecstaticWhat about your creating process?honestly, my creative process is extremely simple: i sit down and draw from the word “go.” throughout the day i try to capture and catalogue things in my life that inspire me or give me an idea to draw something else later, and i usually pick from those: things like art history, song lyrics, screencaps from shows. from there, it’s onto thumbnailing, rough sketch, pencils, lineart, flats, and then the million and one things i do while shading/painting/rendering. the only thing i can think of is that i usually need some sort of noise to block out everything else, whether it’s discord calls with friends, music, podcasts, or letsplays.Do you interact a lot with other fans? i really don’t, honestly.. i was in a difficult place for most of my life for one reason or another and as a result most of what i do is stick my nose in work (freelancing is never ending, lol) and not pick my head up. but in the past year, i’ve started making some friends! and i really love the ones i have. like i said, i’m kinda shy, so i don’t know if i’m up for having lengthy conversations at the drop of a hat or anything, but i’d love to answer some asks!Is there any particular piece you’d like to showcase for this post? how aboutttt this one? https://jxthics.tumblr.com/post/674097206810279936 i made it after rereading the daredevil vs punisher: seventh circle cover to cover. i picked it because i had a blast making it start to finish, and i feel like it’s really striking :) it has the tangled up anatomy interactions that i’ve gravitated towards in the past year.Do you have other fandoms you’d like to talk about?my other big fandoms are probably the witcher, mgs, resident evil, and pathologic. i don’t think i could make any ties between them except “cyclical stories about violence” and “big gruff dad dudes (thanks, punisher)”. i love em a whole lot! not much to say outside of that.Is there anything else you want to tell us about yourself?i’m a punk, and i love punk, goth, metal, and industrial music. i also only got into reading the comics for daredevil and the punisher somewhat recently - send me all your recs for either.Where can your fanworks be found?https://jxthics.tumblr.com/ is the best place to find me, and if you use other social medias, i’m jxthics everywhere else. my art tag is #johnnydraws, relevant fandom tags being #the%20punisher, #daredevil, #marvel%20comics, #frank%20castle, and #matt%20murdock.Thank you, @jxthics !banner by @context-is-for-kingpins ![ID on a white background, four black triangles that look like spotlights from above.
