Valentines day is upon us!Top tips for the guys. Some consider Valentines day to be a cynical marketing ploy by retailers / restaurants and hotels to try and extricate more money from people during what could be considered a real quiet point of the year - well it may well be true but not by one particular corner of the market, it is then embraced by pretty much everyone with a marketing axe to grind. So like it or not, here in Birmingham everyone on the retail trade is revved up and ready to supply those over priced teddy bears, love heart adorned cards, and steak and strawberry dinners with a free glass or Prosecco.Us girls - well we love any demonstration of love and affection, so you can hardly blame us for making all the noise about wondering what you are doing for us on the 14th. So here are some hints for you guys out there:Huge displays of affection - you know the hundred red roses that we can’t carry, put in all our vases put together or even a decent sized suitcase - if you make this kind of gesture once, you may be making a rod for your own back - we will want that sort of treatment all the time and if you don’t deliver, we are fickle enough to notice and often nasty enough to point it out - so don’t do what you can’t manage next year.Cheapskate flowers from the petrol station on your way home has never cut it and most certainly will not do for Valentines day. Neither will a box of Fererro Rocher - they are not a high quality item!Teddys cuddling a heart with “I Love You!” written on them - well some girls might bite, but none that I know - the days afterwards, what are you supposed to do other than leave it in the street like a Christmas tree with non pine needles left on it. Its tacky and it won’t wash!Ok so here are some no-no’s - how about what we girls actually do want!We want to be and feel loved and special! This is not at the top of this list for no reason! It matters less what you buy but what you do.If we go out, that’s great but don’t pick somewhere expensive and then order the house wine. If its too expensive, do your research - in advance - and take us somewhere where you will feel comfortable for us to order anything from the menu without squirming in your chair - we do notice you know!If a meal out is too difficult or expensive then don’t go there - perhaps something we can share, the cinema, a cosy little bar or simply to stay in and watch a DVD - but if the day is supposed to be romantic, don’t think that this is the day to watch “Senna” or “100 best Man Utd goals” - get something funny, something romantic that we can cuddle up to - get this right and all your other videos will become much more accessible in the future - its not all a one way street you know xTrying cooking something yourself - or perhaps something we can prepare together - nothing too hard or extravagant - manage our expectations - but when I say cook I do mean cook - not just heat up. There are many things available at a supermarket where with a little effort you can easily make something nice and inexpensive. When it comes to eating, on our laps is not it - the table - with the TV switched off - like your phone too - turn it off - remember I’m the most important - so why to to anyone else? Off means OFF! I don’t need candles or petals on the bed (although they are nice if you are prepared to make a habit of it) I need you to need me!Talk with (not to or at) me! Eating is not a race, its time spent together!Take some time just to be with me, distraction freeGet this right and you will be well ahead of the game. Almost no guys will get close to this second list this year, or any year for that matter. If you get this right not only will you get the girls, you will get to keep them too! Trust me this is what we want, all our escorts in Birmingham are experts in this matter - if you don’t have a girlfriend or wife, then perhaps a little company from them will be appreciated on Valentines Day.Think you can manage now? -- source link
