Ironically it all tends to come down to ideals and vendettas for monster hunters. :) Hunter guilds rarely function similarly in purpose, some target certain species of monsters, others focus on potential “breaches” with the intent to protect the public, hunting for sport is probably a thing, some just hate monsters for their own personal reasons. Motives like monster remains being used for material goods are also plausible reasons for why hunters pursue their trade. It’d be difficult to statistically place a number on deaths for first-time hunters only because of the lack of consistency in how hunters are trained and how it is they come to find themselves in the business of hunting monsters. Where for some it’s a family trade, others come into the occupation seeking revenge and have no prior training or experience. -- source link
