I don’t know about anyone else, but I was pretty mindfucked about why this statue even existed in the first place and decided to do some further reading into it and oh boy let me tell you does this go a lot deeper than just one statue… in fact, there’s actually a LOT of history behind the connection between Canada and importing fascism from Ukraine …. And our current prime minister has *very* direct ties to it…Fascism didn’t die with Hitler in that bunker. If you think this resurgence of fascism in North America came from no where, I strongly recommend reading “Ur Fascism” by Umberto Eco. It will help you pull your head out of your ass. This isn’t just exposing some dirty blemish on Canadian history, we were literally still hiding *nazi war criminals* as recently as 2015.As long as liberals continue to reject antifascism as some radical political extreme, fascism will never truly die. We can’t just tear down one statue and call it a day.
