Sags are usually put in categories depending on where the belt is worn. Sometimes this can be a bit confusing, because in some cases a ½ butt sag can look low (if the pants have a low crotch) and in other cases it can look as if there’s no sag at all (if the pants have a short crotch).I think it’s easier to put sags in categories by looking at where the back pockets are placed. This way a sag is always called by how it actually looks like and not by where the belt is worn.If the back pockets are above the knee pits, it’s a minor sag (usually encompassing everything from ¼ butt to ½ butt and sometimes even to ¾ butt). If the back pockets are touching the knee pits, it’s a medium sag (usually from ¾ butt to below butt and sometimes even lower). If the back pockets are right at the knee pits, it’s a major sag (usually from below butt to mid-thigh).And if the back pockets are below the knee pits, it’s an extreme sag (usually from mid-thigh to knees). This way if something is called a “medium sag” everyone would know how it looks like, while calling it a “1/2 butt sag” doesn’t really tell much about how the pants actually look like. -- source link
