Well guys, I suppose it is time for an update. December 5th will mark 3 years since I started Testosterone and I am just over 5 months post-op. Looking at these two photos, I don’t see much of a difference. Left was taken in 2011 and right was taken a month or so ago. Biggest difference is the loss of hair. This has been a big year for me as far as transitioning goes. I was finally able to get top surgery and officially came out to everyone who “needed” to know. I am way past due on getting my testosterone levels checked. Last time it was checked they were at 501 compared to 140 before transitioning. The range for the average adult male is 270-1,070 and the average for the adult female is 15-70. In the last 7 months or so I have been considering going off testosterone for personal reasons but I haven’t done the research on what affects are reversible. Also, now with the election… I am unsure if stopping would be the safest option. I am finally past the awkward stage of getting misgendered every two seconds. Needle anxiety has become a very real thing for me and doing injectons every other week is getting harder and harder. I would like to try gel instead but the cost difference is ridiculous ($150 a month compared to $50 for a 3 month supply). I can’t imagine doing injections every other week for the rest of my life and I can’t seem to get over the whole needle thing. I will do a separate update on my chest at some point when I take some more recent photos. For now, I need to work on a legal name change and getting all of my legal documents changed to reflect my correct gender before it becomes more difficult/impossible to do so. #trans #transgender #transman #transboy #lgbtq #lgbt #selfmademan #selfmademen #femaletomale #ftm #queer #lgbtqa #lgbtqa+ -- source link
