continuing to show tumblr my au, here are link and zelda’s poststhis is my version of impa! she’s 47 years old, and her full name is impa ni’mhorain.since a young age she had a fascination with staffs, and early sheikah education demanded an understanding of basic combat for all. unfortunately, at 14 education for the different genders (there being 3 in sheikah culture) splits off into separate curriculum. being a woman, she was expected to go into things such as weaving and child-rearing. she needed to forfeit her weapons until a time of need– but this did not sit well with her. so, when the king of hyrule and his queen consort showed up to introduce their child and appoint an advisor, as it was customary for it to be a sheikah, impa leapt at the chance to get away.what she didn’t realize, though, was the ramifications this decision would have on her own identity and how others perceived her. she wasn’t hylian enough for the royal court, but she was no longer sheikah enough for her own culture. she had a direct view of the poisonous nature of the royal family, but, being an outcast, she knew nothing she said about it would matter. she tried to act as damage control, to help maintain some sort of peace, but as time went on she realized she may not have had any effect on the princess or her upbringing at all. and when link showed up, freshly 17 and petrified, things only continued to spiral out of control. -- source link
