Marketing genius that I am, I completely forgot to mention that “Don’t Make Love”, the game I’ve been working on for the last two years, is already available on Steam and itch.io. It was nominated for the IGF award, the A MAZE award, Indiecade, and chosen for the Game Happens showcase (among others), which is completely mind-blowing, as this is me and my two collegues’ first commercial project. We’re indredibly happy with how everything turned out.If you’re curious, please consider buying the game - it’s only 3,99€/$4,99 and, as many players have told us, a unique (and for some very emotional) experience!Steam-Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/723890/Dont_Make_Love/itch.io-Link: https://maggese.itch.io/dont-make-loveHere’s the official text:“Assume the role of a praying mantis in a relationship. Constantly torn between their mutual love and the instinct to have sex – which could lead to the male mantis’s death – the couple are now on the verge of making a decision. Assume the role of either of the lovers, and try to keep their relationship in balance. Do your best to convey your feelings in a situation with no solution.”Reviews:“It’s surprising how natural this feels. One person (or mantis) is dominating the conversation, but the player is able to influence the direction, and even the conclusion, through empathetic responses, and their own thoughts.”Kotaku“With tons of different paths to clear, Don’t Make Love puts up a challenge for players that may seem deeper than a couple of bugs fighting instinct. Under a thin veil of insect-love, players may find themselves in extremely deep, meaningful conversations about love and necessity.”Indie Games The Weblog“…this is an extremely deep dive into a moral dilemma – and one with more than a little resonance for role-reversed human fears”Rock Paper Shotgun -- source link
